Today, Cyber Monday intersects with the National Day of Rest for Black Women, and I have a special call to action for my followers here on Substack:
I just checked my stats before sitting down to write this post, and I’ve had a substantial influx of white women followers and subscribers in the past few weeks starting pre-election through now mostly via
.However, most of them are passive, meaning they haven’t engaged by liking, commenting on or sharing my posts.
If that’s you, here’s how I’m asking you to take meaningful action, especially today:
Since January 2020, I’ve hosted an intimate women’s retreat on Cape Cod as a way to gather in community after seeing so many in my circle who desire this, but the offerings are mostly inaccessible. The purpose of my retreat - Cape Cod Refresh - is to champion fellow women-owned businesses as my partners and vendors while allowing women to come together around various themes from Setting Your New Year Intentions, Cozy Cape Sleepover and Foodie Fest Getaway. You can see a recap of one of my summer Foodie Fest Getaway retreat here, and my Instagram Live FAQ here.

I have 3 spots remaining for next month’s January 2025 retreat and a list of women who would like to attend, so I’m opening the 3 spots for sponsorship so that they may do so. My retreat is open to women of any ethnic background, and I’ve had women of various ethnicities attend, but the reality is most women see me and assume it’s only for Black women, so the majority of my attendees have been Black women.
As a Black woman, as I shared in my last post, “Rest Mode,” I believe 2025 will be a year of rest, and my retreat offers a space to do so. In the spirit of a more meaningful Cyber Monday, I’d like to offer up the ability for my subscribers to contribute to fund 3 Black women to attend. I run my retreats at cost, so whatever the fee is for my partners and vendors, I build my retreat price and pass through the cost to the attendees. I’m inundated weekly with wellness retreat offers, and most are international and cost thousands of dollars. Mine isn’t - the cost for the 3 women to attend is only $700 each plus 3 meals out and travel.
The weekend features:
Welcome charcuterie boards
Yoga
A 2-hour guided intention setting session
Curated gifts
Optional facial
If you would like to contribute, all or even a partial amount, I’ve set up a Stripe Link here to do so. You’ll see it also includes my Venmo if you’d like to make a partial payment towards the scholarships. Additionally, you can also use Buy Me a Coffee as another way to add to the scholarship fund in any amount - just add a note that it’s for Cape Cod Refresh (you can be anonymous too).

Most importantly, even if you can’t contribute, you can amplify this call to action by sharing my post:
Lastly, this goes beyond Cyber Monday x National Day of Rest for Black Women as there are 3 more retreats beyond January’s (themes listed here), so I’ll roll over any funds and help future women attend. As I always say, experiences over things, and this is one beautiful way to embody this while building and uplifting community.
Fantastic way to connect these two.
