Visual representation of how I’m feeling right now.
This post has been in formation for a few weeks when all sorts of nonsense was piling up and since then there’s SO much more. Not even accounting for world events*, it’s all the things from more disruptions from Covid (SO many folx have it in my circle) to the massively terrifying New England storms this week. Having to dodge falling trees during school pick-up was terrifying.
In between already dealing with my existing healing journey, our dishwasher broke (of course the week before break), and in the process of accepting the replacement delivery in my already incapacitated state, I stumbled and broke my baby toe. Doesn’t sound like much, but as my therapist confirms, when minor things keep piling on it IS a lot, and it’s OK to feel overwhelmed.
Plus it doesn’t help that I don’t have my usual physical activity to keep some semblance of release. Ugh.
Anyway, this is also a pre-holiday post to remind you to also WEAR YOUR MASK. The amount of folx coughing, hacking, sneezing and also still doing this into their hands or open air without covering their faces is absolutely disgusting (and reconfirms why I don’t do potlucks). My family and I are still rocking our KN95s (why would you want to raw dog folx nasty airplane breath?!), AND we keep testing - you can get more FREE tests here (my family was eligible for 8 so input your address and check your quantity eligibility too!).
Stay safe friends.
*Holly Whitaker’s piece on how we’re living in peak insanity is a validating read describing so many invisible and visible variables that we are collectively juggling.
Yep, I just tested positive for covid today! We're still masking on trains and in large groups / crowds, but I think it came from the kids at school. Love you!!
All of this! I broke my pinky toe this year, and it's such a stupid thing, but hurts SO MUCH!
